Vancouver Muslims is proud to be a part of Canadian Blood Services’ Partners for Life Program. We will be having our next group blood donation day on July 10th!

Saturday, July 10th @ 4750 Oak Street (map below) with appointment times ranging from 12:00pm-4pm (possible slot times below). Your appointment will take one hour.

***To select your appointment, there is a simple 2-step process (#1 is a MUST!)
1) Message the Vancouver Muslims admin on Facebook (OR email us at vancouvermuslims@hotmail.com) with the following:
- your name
- your birth year
- phone #
- a few possible appointment times from the list below at the bottom of this page.
2) Register yourself with Canadian Blood Services here:

Fill in your information using our Partner ID number VANC010903 (four letters, six numbers)!
*All info is required for blood services, and is kept strictly confidential. Registering yourself enables us to keep a track of our blood donation pledges, whether you donate with the group or individually.
***THE DEADLINE TO SIGN UP IS SATURDAY JUNE 26TH!!!

Choose your donation time on June 26th! Please message us with a few alternatives (any group you choose is fine!).
Group 1:
12:00pm (5 empty spots)
Group 2:
1:30pm (5 empty spots)
Group 3:
2:30pm (5 empty spots)

HOW TO PREPARE FOR YOUR DONATION:
How to prepare for donating blood (especially for first time donors)
1. Please make sure you’ve eaten something substantial at least 3 hours before donating
2. Please make sure you are extremely well hydrated - so drink lots and lots of water the day of your donation
3. ID must be given
4. The whole process of iron testing, screening, donating and enjoying some juice and cookies takes about one hour, so schedule accordingly.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
1. First time donors must be between the ages of 17 and 61.
2. Donors must weigh at least 110 lbs.
3. ID is required.
4. You must wait 6 months to donate after having a piercing or tattoo.
5. You must wait 24 hours after getting your teeth cleaned at the dentist.
6. You must wait 72 hours after dental surgery.
7. You can donate every 56 days.
8. If you’ve travelled outside of North America within the past year, please call our toll free line, and speak to a clinic nurse to make sure you did not travel to what we consider a ’malaria risk area’. 1 888 2 DONATE begin_of_the_skype_highlighting1 888 2 DONATEend_of_the_skype_highlighting
